A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §55-10-9, relating to prohibiting corporations that contractually engage in predispute binding arbitration with residents and citizens of the State of West Virginia from receiving state funding, state contracts or state purchasing agreements.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
    That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §55-10-9, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 10. ARBITRATION.
§55-10-9. Corporations that require binding arbitration; effect on state funding, state contracts and purchasing agreements.
     Notwithstanding any provision of this code to the contrary, a corporation that contractually engages in pre-dispute binding arbitration with citizens or residents of the State of West Virginia may not receive state funding, a state contract or a state purchasing agreement. For the purpose of this section, "state" includes the State of West Virginia and its political subdivisions, boards, commissions, agencies and instrumentalities.


     NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to prohibit corporations that engage in pre-dispute binding arbitration with citizens or residents of the State of West Virginia from receiving state funding, state contracts and state purchasing agreements.
